New York State Energy & Water Reporting and Resource Tracking

The State of New York has specified PowerScore as the approved platform for resource benchmarking for New York State licensed cannabis cultivators!

Benchmark Now

Welcome to Cannabis PowerScore, specified by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (the Office) as the approved platform for reporting resource consumption metrics. Using the PowerScore platform is free for licensees authorized to cultivate cannabis by the Office.

The purpose of PowerScore is to allow growers to benchmark the energy and resource inputs used by their facility or facilities. This tool enables licensees authorized to cultivate to comply with the resource tracking and reporting mandates included in Sections 113.26(a) and 113.7(e)(7)(ix) of the medical cannabis regulations and Sections 123.4(g)(1), 123.4(g)(2) and 125.2(c)(3) of the adult-use cannabis regulations, all references under Title 9 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (9 NYCRR).

PowerScore helps growers develop a full picture of their operation’s use of energy and water and generation of waste and emissions. Growers can also see how they stack up against other licensed cannabis growers nationwide!

PowerScore reporting is quick and simple, and the report is confidential.

With the grower in mind

In addition to enabling licensees authorized to cultivate to comply with the Office’s regulations, PowerScore empowers growers with information regarding their resource efficiency. The platform is available entirely for free New York State licensed cannabis cultivators!

In the first year of operation, the PowerScore platform will enable growers to set a benchmark for their facility’s performance. Growers with more than one year of operation will be able to see how their facility has performed year over year.

The end goal is for growers to evaluate the level of resource inputs they are using to help them better understand the relationship between their operating costs and yield. Using PowerScore to track resource consumption has also enabled cannabis and other crop growers in various states to make decisions to improve their facilities’ energy performance!
